A portable two-page website: test a source export before publishing

Use a downloadable two-page static demonstration to check page links, CSS paths and ownership of the files you publish.

Vibe Hosting·Published About 2 min read

A portable static website consists of files you can inspect and serve independently. This two-page Vibe Hosting demonstration is deliberately small: a homepage, a services page and one shared stylesheet. It is a self-built teaching example designed for a complete file-and-link rehearsal.

Run the demonstration locally

Download the static-site example ZIP and extract it. The package contains a loopback-only preview server for convenience; Node.js is required only for that preview command, not to host the finished HTML and CSS.

node preview.mjs

Open http://127.0.0.1:3188/ on the same machine. Follow the services link, refresh that page and return home. Stop the preview with Ctrl+C. For static hosting, publish only index.html, services.html and styles.css to the site's document root. Do not upload the preview server as an application requirement.

Check the handoff, not just the screenshot

Both pages should retain their layout when opened through the preview server. The navigation uses relative file paths, so the exported folder can also sit below a subdirectory when the host serves it correctly. Keep the files together and check the final URLs after upload.

  • Confirm the document root contains index.html rather than a second nested export folder.
  • Visit services.html directly and refresh it.
  • Confirm the stylesheet loads with a successful response.
  • Check that all navigation stays on the intended published site.

Apply the checks to an AI-built site

An actual AI export can include additional assets and behavior; inspect that output separately. A contact form, payment button or external script needs its own functional check. This demonstration contains no submission backend and makes no claim about those integrations.

Use the AI export publishing guide for the broader workflow, then prepare the handoff checklist. Vibe Hosting AI Builder supports source export, letting you review the files before choosing how to publish them.
